Joe Biden just can’t help himself: Every time he opens his mouth he manages to step right into it.
Biden responded to a campaign ad run by his own campaign with: “I didn’t know we did it and if I had anything to do with it, we’d have never done it. I thought that was terrible, by the way.” (Source: http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080923/D93C985O0.html)
The ad mocked John McCain for being computer illiterate and claimed McCain is out-of-touch. However, it didn’t take into account that McCain’s computer troubles stem from him being unable to correctly position his arms/shoulders due to the injuries he suffered as a prisoner of war.
In a second recent gaffe, Biden spoke out ahead of his running mate on the Bush Administration’s plan to bail out the mortgage companies. Biden attack the proposal on the very same day Obama attack McCain for opposing it. NBC’s Matt Lauer on the “Today” show pointed out to Obama his running mate and McCain had the same position.
Obama’s response: “I think that in that situation, I think Joe should have waited, as well.”

I keep hearing about how awful Biden’s gaffes are, but none of the ones I’ve read, including those here, suggest that he’s unfit to be Vice-President. Ms. Palin, on the other hand, sounds like someone winging her way through a slow-class 10th grade oral exam (and failing). Keep pretending that it’s the same thing.

In response to Steve’s comments:
Biden hasn’t necessary said anything that would disqualify him from being president. In none of posts have I insinuated that is the case. What I have said is Biden says things that hurt the overall Obama-Biden campaign. I stand by that.
As far as Sarah Palin goes, what Steve said was simply opinion. Many people on the left will feel as Steve does. People on the right will disagree. Palin also hasn’t said anything that would disqualify her from being vice president.
Where Biden’s gaffes can be backed up, Palin simply hasn’t made *any* gaffes to this point.
Steve has a partisan lense and he’s viewing the situation through it.
