Things to know:

• The difference between a porter beer versus a stout beer. A porter is generally less full and heavy than a stout. A porter is also generally made with carmel malts or chocolate malts and is more flavorful. A stout is more likely to be roasted barley, although some have an oatmeal flavor. Porters are usually sweeter and less filling than stouts. This can be a hard distinction to make, and when in doubt, consult the bottle.
• Marilyn vos Savant, an American magazine columnist, playwright and author is credited as having the highest intelligent quotient in the world. She is married to Robert Jarvik, the inventor of the Jarvik artificial heart, who you may recall has been in several commercials lately. There isn’t a definitive figure for her IQ, but it has been estimated at 220-plus. But, is her IQ  a blessing or a curse?
• “Immanentize the eschaton” is a phrase that means creating heaven on earth (the simplest explanation).  It deals with the transcendent, uncreated, spiritual future and attempting to bring that to earth.
